We've Got Answers

What makes Queens Hive honey different from store-bought?

Most store-bought honey is heavily processed — heated, filtered, and sometimes blended with corn syrup. Queens Hive honey is raw, unfiltered, and comes straight from our hives in Southern Indiana. No heat. No additives. Just honey the way bees make it.

Is your honey really raw and unfiltered?

Yes. We never heat our honey above natural hive temperature. We use only a coarse strain to remove wax and debris — pollen, enzymes, and natural nutrients stay intact. What you get is honey exactly as it left the hive.

My honey crystallized. Is it still good?

Absolutely — crystallization is a sign of real, unprocessed honey. It's completely natural and does not mean the honey has gone bad. To re-liquefy, place the jar in warm (not hot) water and stir gently. Never microwave it — high heat destroys the enzymes that make raw honey special.

How should I store my honey?

Store at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. A pantry or cabinet works perfectly. Honey has an indefinite shelf life when stored properly — no refrigeration needed. Keep the lid tight and it will last for years.

Do you ship outside Indiana?

Currently, we ship within Indiana only under Indiana Cottage Food Law. We offer local pickup in both Evansville and Bloomington. If you're outside Indiana, reach out — we're exploring expanded shipping options.

How does local pickup work?

Place your order online and select your preferred pickup city. We'll reach out to schedule a convenient time and location. Pickup is usually available within a few days of ordering. No delivery fees, no shipping wait.

Is raw honey safe for infants?

No. Honey — raw or pasteurized — should never be given to children under 12 months old due to the risk of infant botulism. For everyone 12 months and older, raw honey is safe and nutritious.

What sizes do you sell?

We offer four sizes: a 16 oz glass jar ($15), a 6 lb half-gallon jug ($50), a 12 lb one-gallon jug ($80), and a 60 lb five-gallon bucket ($300) for bulk buyers. All sizes contain the same pure wildflower honey.

Do you sell at farmers markets or local stores?

Right now we operate online-only with local pickup. We're a small backyard operation and our batches sell out fast. The best way to get Queens Hive honey is to order directly through this site.
